The Meadowlark Parent Advisory Council brings families and school staff together to support our students and strengthen our school.
Run by parent volunteers, the PAC works closely with Meadowlark’s principal, teachers, and staff to help identify school needs, support learning experiences, and create opportunities for families to connect. Some of that work involves fundraising. Other work includes planning events, organizing volunteers, appreciating staff, and helping families find information.
Parents and caregivers contribute in many ways: serving as officers, coordinating a program, joining an event committee, helping with a single activity, or sharing an idea.
PAC officers help coordinate the organization’s work and maintain continuity throughout the school year. Coordinators and committees focus on particular programs and events. Volunteers help turn those plans into experiences for the school community.
The principal, teachers, and staff bring their knowledge of students, classrooms, and school priorities to this partnership. Families bring their time, skills, perspectives, and community connections.
The PAC stays connected with school leadership and staff to understand where additional support could help. Staff may identify classroom needs, enrichment opportunities, or challenges affecting students. Families may bring ideas for events, partnerships, or improvements to the school community.
An event may need a planning committee and volunteers. A classroom request may need funding. A community partnership may begin with a parent introducing the PAC to a local business. Officers, coordinators, committees, and volunteers share responsibility for moving this work forward. PAC meetings provide a place to discuss proposals, hear updates, and make decisions together; planning and follow-through also happen throughout the year.
Fundraisers, donations, and business support help the PAC contribute resources beyond what is available through school funding. The PAC considers school needs and funding requests alongside its budget and other commitments. Financial updates and meeting records help families understand how funds are allocated and what the PAC is supporting.
Classroom and student support: Resources and additional help for needs identified within the school.
Arts and enrichment: Experiences that give students opportunities to explore, create, and learn.
School and family events: Activities that bring students, families, and staff together.
Teacher and staff appreciation: Ways to recognize the people who support our children each day.
Schoolwide improvements: Projects that benefit shared spaces and the wider school community.
You do not need to hold an official role or attend every meeting to contribute. Some families help with one event. Others support an ongoing program, share a professional skill, connect the PAC with a local business, or make a donation.
If you are new to Meadowlark, a meeting or volunteer opportunity can be a helpful way to meet people and learn more about the school.
